About This Project and Matthew Troy

Born and raised in Hebron, CT, Matthew Troy discovered his passion and talent for filmmaking during his middle school years and has developed his craft ever since.

Accepted to NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts in 2005, Matthew has explored his expertise in both the visual and aural fields of film production, finding the most enjoyment in directing and cinematography.

In 2006 Matthew acted as the director of photography for numerous acclaimed short films, including the award winning short “The Art of Losing” (Fusion Film Festival, 2007). He is also currently enjoying the success of his short film “The Siren Song Volunteer,” shot in 16mm in 2006.

Having recently returned from Prague, Czech Republic after a semester of studying 35mm cinematography, Matthew is serving as director of photography for numerous short films in early 2008, as well as directing his own films.

Matthew will pursue a career as a director and cinematographer for mainstream cinema.
